Get A Grip

grip

I’m not always a neck-strap kind of guy when it comes to my DSLR camera. Sometimes I use my hand-grip strap and every time I do, people ask me about it. It was around $16 bucks and it’s great for some situations. However, how can you beat $4 bucks!? I spotted this on DealNews.

Enjoy.

  • I’ve been looking for one of these. Thanks for the tip on DealNews, $3.99 with free ground shipping. It’s worth a try, right?

Sorry I forgot to include the link. It’s there now. And if the “deal” expires, the item’s for sale at MeritLine.com so you can look for it there.

I use one for weddings, its great until you want your hand free, so I attached a key ring to it and a carabina to my belt strap.

I have had this hand grip for 2 years now and it really does make holding a camera one-handed feel great. Except for one thing, it’s not really made for a large hand like I have (ex-large gloves). I had too many times were the strap came apart because it was at the max length. I didn’t want to give up on the grip but I didn’t want my Nikon falling on the floor with me holding the loose end of the grip. I fixed this problem with a plastic cable tie pulled tight at the end of the strap and I feel much better knowing my camera isn’t going anywere ‘anymore’.
I bought mine from the offical Nikon Mall online web site but I don’t think they still sell the grips there anymore.
