What’s “Phaim”

It’s cool to use an obscure word or invent your own word when you’re doing something on the web these days. Just ask Google or Wikipedia. Phaim is my strange play on a combination of a few words like photography, Photoshop, smartphones and the word “aim,” as in ‘what you aim for.’ Actually it’s about photographic goals, and the business of photography, freelance, and smartphones, but “phoals” or “phisness” just doesn’t sound as clever. — It seems to me that there’s an audience out there who would enjoy their own 15 minutes of Phaim every week or so. ;)

Larry Becker is the Executive Director of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP)… but that’s not why he created this blog. It’s an outlet for a few things related to, but not an actual part of, his day job (photography and small business marketing) and a few things related to his personal interests (smartphones, iPhones, iPods, and a few other gadgets). Actually, Larry also covered the who, what, and why stuff pretty well in his first blog post here.
